The Wainwright Fells

The Wainwright Fells are the 214 individual hills and mountains in England’s Lake District personally selected by Alfred Wainwright and described in his Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells (1955–1966). These fells are not defined by strict geographic or elevation criteria—instead, Wainwright chose them based on their character, views, and walkability. They are grouped into seven regions, each covered by one of the seven guidebooks.
